    Footprints Waipoua

One of the highlights of the Hokianga is the Waipoua Forest

The spiritual environment of the Waipoua Forest provides a natural stage for an unforgettable Footprints Waipoua encounter with some of the largest remaining kauri trees in the world.

'Step into our World' and let our local guides take you on a memorable journey through nature's stages of evolution, whilst providing a mythological and interactive interpretation of life in the forest.

    Sand Boarding

Plus Fishing Charters & Harbour Cruises come and enjoy the Hokianga with Pete & his crew

Dune riding at North Head. A boat service from Opononi wharf takes you to the giant sand dunes on the North side of the Harbour entrance. The modest fare includes a sand board. Then you can walk up the dune and ride down, crossing the narrow beach and splashing into the sea, as often as you want, or as long as your energy lasts. When you have had enough, catch the same boat back to Opononi. Just one of many activities you can enjoy in the Hokianga, Northland, New Zealand.
